August 2, 2011 - Since our last update we've dried up considerably!! The pastures are all lush from the rains and it looks like we're going to have a heck of a hay crop!!! We changed up our breeding season a bit this year and turned Zip out with his mares in the pasture as our breeding pen was under water. Zip seemed to really enjoy being out with his mares! We also sold Zip's filly to a great home and brought two mares back with us on that trip. We purchased a gorgeous bay AQHA mare and brought an awesome sorrel SPB APHA mare to be bred to Zip! Also we welcomed home our APHA mare BJF Eternal Maucho. We are hoping to have nine foals off Zip next spring with eight of them being off our mares. It should be an interesting group of foals!!
May 23, 2011 - Well we've had quite the spring around the ranch!! We experienced some major flooding when it began melting leaving our yard very wet and muddy! Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, we did not have any foals this spring. With our three mares I only had the opportunity to hand breed four days at the end of May and unfortunately it wasn't enough. Thankfully though we did not have the extra worry of mares foaling while we were dealing with the water. A freak snow storm at the beginning of May resulted in the loss of a few calves but we were very fortunate not to lose more as several in our area lost a large portion of their calf crop. We are still dealing with lingering water issues however we will begin breeding this week. Our plan is to cover all our broodmares this year in hopes to have several foals next spring for your consideration. We wish you all a wonderful spring and summer!! February 13, 2011 - We're enjoying some beautiful weather these days and it's making us even more excited for calving and foaling!! We're also on the look out for some outstanding mares to add to our herd as well as some fullblood Maine-Anjou heifers/cows.
August 23, 2010 - Our beautiful filly is now registered with APHA as PSA LilBitSensational. We are so excited about this filly!!
July 8, 2010 - We're done breeding for the year. This year we bred 3 of our own mares and one outside mare. We bred RR Honeybits Pie, MC Special Mindy, Holly, and Ponderosa Paints & Pintos mare Honey. We are hoping they are all safe in foal and can't wait until next spring!!
June 26, 2010 - Well we did it, we tied the knot. Not without a little excitement though! It was a day to remember starting with moving the ceremony ten minutes before it was to start, seeing funnel clouds, and splish splashing in the rink for the reception. All in all it was a very very happy day in our lives!! Oh and Scooter performed his job very well. Check out the pets page for pictures of Scooter in his tuxedo when we get our wedding pics back.
May 1, 2010 - Zip is the proud sire of another beautiful filly!! Ponderosa Paints & Pintos leased mare Hand Ford Gold foaled a beautiful, solid sorrel filly this morning. We are very excited to see these two beautiful ladies grow!
April 27, 2010 - RR Honeybits Pie foaled a beautiful sorrel overo filly this evening! We are super happy with the first foal off our stallion Sensational ZipNRock!!
April 18, 2010 - Ponderosa Paints & Pintos mare Duals Kokanee Gold had a gorgeous chestnut tobiano colt this morning. She was a month overdue but it was well worth the wait!! Check out their website for updates.
April 17, 2010 - Ponderosa Paints & Pintos mare Duals Kokanee Gold is waxed up to foal. Our mare RR Honeybits Pie is growing ever closer to foaling as well. We're also 3/4 done calving and are very happy with our new bull Mels Gibson 2S. The spring is very busy here at the ranch and it's only going to get busier!! We're very excited for the summer ahead!
March 20, 2010 - We'll soon be foaling! We have Ponderosa Paints & Pintos Pinto mare Duals Kokanee Gold to foal out. She was bred to Ponderosa's SB The Outlaw who is also the sire of our 2 Arabian mares. She is due in 5 days. Our mare RR Honeybits Pie is due at the end of next month. Check her out on the For Sale page. Ponderosa's lease mare Hand Ford Gold is also due to have a foal by Sensational ZipNRock at the end of next month. We are super excited to see what all these mares have.
