Cattle
Our cattle consist of Maine-Anjou, Charolais, Red Angus, and Black Angus breeding.  Randy purchased a herd of  20 purebred Maine-Anjou and Maine-Anjou cross cattle while he was still in high school.  Today we have a handful of purebred Maines and several Maine influenced cows.  We are currently running two Maine-Anjou herd sires with the Maine and Red Angus cows.  We find that the Maine-Anjou crossed with the Angus makes a cow with calving ease, great milking ability, and a higher weaning weight than other crosses.  We also enjoy the beef out of this cross as it is well marbeled and incredibly tender.  Our Charolais cows are run with a purebred Charolais bull and our first calf heifers run with a purebred Black Angus bull.  We are proud of our cattle and may possibly in the future branch out into the purebred cattle business.
MELS GIBSON 2S - We purchased Mel in the spring of 2009 from Reg & Jean Renton, Wildberry Hills Maine-Anjou of Thorsby, Alberta.  Mel is a fullblood Maine-Anjou that we have purchased to cross with our bigger commercial cows and some of our purebred Maine-Anjous.  We are looking forward to possibly purchasing some purebred heifers to cross on him in the future.
BULLWINKLE - Bullwinkle is a homegrown purebred Maine-Anjou bull.   Bullwinkle sires low birth weight, fast growing calves.  We cross him on our Red Angus cows and our smaller Maine Anjou cows.  We are very pleased with his calves and are excited to add some of his heifers to our cow herd.
CRAZY EYES - Our purebred Charolais herd sire.  This long and lean bull runs with our Charolais cows and sires low birthweight calves which gain at a fast rate in the pasture.  At weaning his calves are the heaviest and most well muscled of all our sires.  I am absolutely in love with this bull and the calves he produces!
ROY - Our heifer bull.  Roy is a purebred Black Angus that throws low birthweight calves off of all our heifers.  His calves gain well in the pasture and are very marketable in the fall.  He allows us to sleep easy at nights knowing we won't have any problems calving out our heifers!
